Clinical Staff Development Coordinator

SUMMARY OF JOB:
The Clinical Staff Development Coordinator has overall responsibility for the clinical educational programs for the skilled nursing community and the convent.
Assists in the planning, developing, and implementing for the training of new and current staff.
Assumes responsibility and in collaboration with Director of Nurses for directing the in-service educational programs and completing competency skills at the minimum annually for clinical staff.
Supports the Infection Preventionist Specialist as needed.
Additionally, provides education to Nursing personnel on clinical subject utilizing in-services and other formats.
Also assists on interpreting data from the QI/QM and Facility Assessment to identify training opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Assumes responsibility for directing the in-service educational programs and completing competency skills annually and as needed for clinical staff.
Develops and maintains the monthly clinical education calendar for both SNF and Convent.
Organizes with administration, nursing administrative leads and Human Resources the General Orientation of new employees.
Assists with coordinating, planning, and implementing Nursing Orientation in collaboration with the Nursing Administrative team beyond day 1 orientation.
Oversees the Medication Technician Program for the Convent.
Collaborates with the Dementia Committee to ensure on going education in Dementia Care.
Serves on various committees including Palliative Care and QAPI.
Facility Relias Training Administrator and Nursing Point Click Care trainer.
Ensures the records in Relias are accurate.
Collaborates with Administration to implement, support, evaluate, and sustain Culture Change and Person Directed Care model.
Implements and chairs Trauma Informed Care committee for all departments.
Coordinates, develops, and assists with the development of clinical guidelines and policies and procedures.
Responsible for remaining informed of regulatory changes to coordinate implementation of education programs.

BSN or related baccalaureate preparation in education preferred Current PA nursing license as a Registered Nurse with minimum of 2 years long-term care experience in various roles of management or leadership Dementia Certification preferred or willing to obtain EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of nurse training/education experience preferred.
Knowledge of current nursing practices including Trauma Informed, Dementia Care and Culture Change.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations in Long Term Care.
Working knowledge of MDSs, Care Plans, and Medicare/Medicaid.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
Independent, organized and detailed in work performance.
Computer skills PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate to heavy physical effort Lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
Balance of sedentary/mobility work Occasional kneeling/stooping/crouching/reaching/bending Occasionally moves/lifts supplies or equipment Occasionally transfers and re-positions residents Ability to communicate verbally.
Reading/seeing/writing requires far and near visual acuity, field vision, and color vision to read written communications.
Must be able to write legibly.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
